On 22 August 2021 Marines, family members and friends gathered in Houston, Texas to celebrate the retirement of First Sergeant Andrew Lopez, United States Marine Corps. This outstanding Marine served our Corps and Country for twenty years, including tours in Iraq and Afghanistan and tours on the Drill Field and in shaping Officer Candidates at Quantico, Virginia. Anyone who has ever worn the Eagle, Globe and Anchor will give testament to the debt they owe every Drill Instructor who has worn the Hat for the traits they instilled in every Marine who graduated MCRD Parris Island, MDRD San Diego or OCS Quantico Virginia. Hand to Helmet, First Sergeant, Semper Fidelis
