American Legion Post 416

This is a photo of Corporal Joe Kalla, serving at the time with 1st Tank Battalion, First Marine Division at the Chosin Reservoir during the breakout in December, 1951. The Marines who fought there are still spoken of with reverence by Marines who serve today. Joe Kalla and Jean White were two of the Marines who spoke to our Post in August 2021 describing their experiences fighting in temperatures that reached 30 degrees below zero.

Since 1933 this facility has been serving veterans who have served our country. Our members have served in Korea, VietNam, Central and South America, Asia and theaters throughout the world. The photo above is one of our veterans (Joe Kalla) during a tour as a Drill Instructor. He previously served with distinction at the Chosin Reservoir.

Many serious wounds are unseen. The mission of our Post is to serve the needs of Veterans who walk through our doors needing help. We have started a fundraising campaign to help us fund a new facility on our current site. We own the land and have a solid start but still have a long way to go. If you have are able to help, no matter the amount, please click the button below. It will take you to our Campaign site. If you have questions please call or email me.

Thank you.
Semper Fidelis, M.J. Conrad, Colonel, USMC (Ret)
