It takes years of experience and connections with the right people to be credentialed as a Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association Photographer. I have to be content with seizing the opportunity for a photograph whenever it comes along. Even if I were lucky enough to have access inside the arena during a performance, I know it isn’t my place. I’ve learned that Professional Cowboys are world class athletes and know how to minimize risks to themselves and to the animals. Watching the Pickup Men and the Bullfighters (they are not called rodeo clowns) is truly inspirational.
